About the company - DHR Inc. is a RI corporation formed in 1985 by Martin J. Casey, a Newport native. For over 30 years, "Marty" worked extensively on buildings from the 17th, 18th, and 19th century periods. This included complete renovations, restructuring, repairs, maintenance, building expansions and construction of numerous new custom homes. An understanding of a building's components and systems -- foundation, structural, mechanical, safety, etc. -- was acquired through "hands on" experience. Also, and very important, Marty acquired an understanding of how time, weather and use affect a building, and how to recognize and interpret symptoms of wear, deficiency and failure. |
